Save money your travel insurance premiums

With more and more of us travelling regularly, having a good travel insurance policy is vital. However, many of us are paying far too much for our travel insurance by taking out a policy with our tour operator or travel agent. 

There's a huge choice of products, and fierce competition among providers, but  according to the Consumers' Association, most people still buy expensive policies from travel agents. Because of this, Independent market research company Defaqto estimates we are over-paying for travel insurance cover to the tune of £250 million every year. 

Key things to ensure you are covered for:

• Cancellation of, or cutting short, your holiday
• Illness or injury while you are away
• Loss or theft of your belongings
• Delayed or missed connection
• Liability for accidents to others.
